The Idaho Potato Commission

Seth Pemsler, VP Retail/International, has been with the Idaho Potato Commission in this capacity for 11 years. Prior to that Seth spent 20 years in a variety of senior sales and marketing positions with major consumer packaged goods companies including General Mills, HJ Heinz and Ralston Purina. Although not a traditional produce guy, Seth has brought unique packaged goods ideas to the produce industry including strong tie-in programs with major companies and formal category management initiatives.

Ken Tubman, Promotional Director-Northeast, has been with the IPC for the past 12 years has led the charge into Category Management and providing tools for retailers. Prior to his joining the IPC Ken spent 8 years with Whole Foods and owned his own produce distribution business in the Boston area. Ken is probably the most knowledgeable person in the potato industry based on his access and analysis of key data including Nielsen and Market Track, an ad source that provides all ads run by most retailers in an extensive database.

The Idaho Potato Commission is one of the oldest and strongest produce associations in the US formed 78 years ago to promote and support the Idaho Potato Industry. The IPC was the first commodity group to utilize broad scale advertising more than 50 years ago and today we run national TV advertising featuring the iconic truck that everyone is still looking for. The Idaho seal is recognized around the world as a symbol of quality and we encourage retailers to leverage that strength within their own potato section.
